Each painting in this series is a unique study created with ink and Himalayan salt on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper (308gsm, 29.8 x 21cm), from Lauren Baker’s sketchbooks. These works contributed to the development of the bronze sculpture Consciousness Awakening and the artist book Mystical Visions, both launched in Venice with the European Cultural Centre at Giardini della Marinaressa during the last Venice Biennale.
Rooted in the concept of awakening to the intelligence of nature, the series explores the idea that plants vibrate at 37 Hz — within the same frequency range as human consciousness — revealing an unseen harmony between all living beings. The recurring motif of the eye becomes a symbol of expanded awareness and our interconnectedness with the natural world.
Created in a trance-like state of flow, each piece offers a raw, intimate glimpse into the unseen realms of perception. They invite us to embrace our role as guardians of Earth — protectors of a living, conscious planet.
Funds raised will go towards planting the final trees in Lauren’s 8,888-tree rainforest mission — a dream that’s almost fully rooted.
