Lauren Baker’s ‘Totem Tribe’ series invites connection with nature and the elements through community, spirituality, and symbolism. Inspired by time spent with indigenous tribes and shamans in South and Central America, as well as megalithic sites such as Stonehenge and Inuksuks, the totems draw on Jungian archetypes and the energy of talismans and amulets—becoming focal points for contemporary sacred gatherings. ‘Nature Is Watching’, born from Baker’s experience in the Amazon jungle, delves into the silent wisdom of the natural world. These surreal, anthropomorphic forms - trees sprouting third eyes - reflect humanity’s responsibility to the Earth. Together, the two series explore humanity’s evolving relationship with nature and with itself, revealing the deep threads of interconnectedness and unity.
